Following a nationwide search, Tim Laurent has been named provost and vice president for academic affairs at Mount Mercy—succeeding Jan Handler after her retirement.
Laurent starts in June and brings an extensive record of academic success and service, as well as broad administrative experience to the Hill.
Most recently, he served as vice president for academic affairs at the University of Providence in Great Falls, Montana, where he oversaw all aspects of undergraduate, graduate, face-to-face, online, and hybrid programs. Prior to that, he was associate dean for academic affairs at Lynchburg College (Virginia). ■
